Over the weekend, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade, accompanied by their daughters Zaya and Kaavia, attended Beyoncé’s much-anticipated Renaissance tour on September 2, 2023. The star-studded event was a night to remember as evidenced by a series of photos posted on the Wades’ Instagram pages.
In the photos, the quartet showcased their dazzling style as they struck various poses. Union along with Zaya, 16, and Kaavia James, 4, wore their best metallic looks in line with Beyoncé’s request for her fans to wear silver in honor of her birthday.
However, it seems that Dwyane missed the memo about the silver dress code for Beyoncé’s Los Angeles concert. He stood out from his family, dressed in a white-and-black ensemble.
“Style is generational,” Union captioned the snapshots.
Dwyane Wade, a three-time NBA champion, is a father to Zaya and son Zaire, 21, from his previous marriage to Siovaughn Funches, and son Xavier, 9, from his relationship with Aja Metoyer. He and Gabrielle Union share their adorable daughter, Kaavia.
Last month, Zaya Wade spoke with Harper’s Bazaar for their Icons for 2023 series, offering a glimpse into the close-knit family dynamic and the influence of her father.
“Kids always tend to look up to their parents, but not only did I idolize him growing up and see him as a real person, I realize that he has played such an essential role in supporting me and the ways I choose to present myself to the world,” Zaya expressed.
“He’s been so supportive and my biggest advocate. He took the time and learned and grew. I want to have that same mentality going through anything in life,” she added.
Zaya’s journey of coming out and living her truth has been challenging, but her family’s unwavering support has been a constant source of motivation.
“Coming out is such a big change. It’s hard to navigate. We’ve all learned more about each other and the way we can coexist and grow together in this crazy world, especially in the public eye.”
“It’s like a spotlight is always on you. At the end of the day though, we are a family, and we support and love each other and we are grateful,” she concluded.
