Kiyan Anthony, the son of former Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony and actress La La Anthony, is stepping into the spotlight in a new docuseries called “The Evolution.”
The six-part series, which is available on Overtime’s YouTube channel, follows Kiyan as he aims to “show the world I’m not just an NBA player’s son.”
Not too long ago, Kiyan’s NBA aspirations seemed like a distant dream.
“I didn’t know how good I was and I didn’t know how good I was going to be,” Kiyan told the NY post in an interview last week.
It was only when he began working out and playing with his AAU team that Kiyan realized the joy basketball could bring.
“Once I started going to work out and play with my AAU team, I realized, ‘Oh this is actually fun,’” Kiyan continued.
“When I got to high school, I didn’t think I was really good, but this past year I took a big leap and now I feel like I can compete with the best in the country.”
In the span of just a year, Kiyan’s basketball prowess has grown exponentially. From being absent in ESPN’s top 100 players for the class of 2025, he now stands tall among the top 50 prospects and holds the coveted title of New York’s top-ranked player. His impressive performances have drawn the attention of several prestigious colleges and universities.

“If you had asked me a year ago, I would have said I wanted to go to D-1. I had an offer from Memphis then, but I feel like it wasn’t really genuine, because going out there against competition, I didn’t feel like I could really keep up a year ago,” Kiyan said.
As for the “Overtime” series, Kiyan hopes that viewers will see him for “who I really am.”
