“It’s almost time,” Kandi exclaimed prior to the ceremony. The celebrity mom gave attribution to those who worked behind the scenes to bring her fashion sense to the spotlight.

“This past weekend was amazing,” Kandi said after the Tony Awards convened. The RHOA star admitted that she and her company did not win the award for Best Revival of a Play after showcasing August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson on Broadway.

“It was just a whirlwind of energy and being around amazing people and being inspired and all of those things,” Burruss shared. “I just want to say I am so grateful and thankful to everyone who sent messages uplifting me, [those who sent] texts, sending prayers up for us. [I’m thankful for] everybody who sent love,” the producer shared with her Instagram fans.

“Of course, I’m disappointed that we didn’t win,” Kandi admitted. “Y’all know how I am,” she continued. “I love to win,” Burruss said. “But I am very happy for the team who did win and the production was Topdog/Underdog. I just want to say much love to them and I’m just going to get back to work. It’s as simple as that. Back to work. I’m already back to work.”

A win at the Tony Awards would have pushed Kandi Burruss closer to EGOT status. The RHOA star expressed her desire to experience such an accomplishment last year.

“My overall dream is that I get the EGOT,” Kandi shared. “I got a Grammy. I need an Emmy, I need an Oscar, I need a Tony,” the entertainer said.

“And so it’s like [I need to] analyze the Emmy, Oscar, Tony, and figure out what are all the things I can do to qualify me to be recognized for something like that,” Kandi continued. “So I’m working towards those goals,” she assured.

Although a Tony Award did not come her way this season, Burruss still expressed gratitude for the opportunity to produce a show on Broadway. “This was a blessing to be nominated,” she told her fans on Monday (Jun. 12). “It was a dream come true to be nominated,” Kandi added. “I am a Tony [Award] nominated producer, which is a major deal.”
