Teyana Taylor is writing love letters to Harlem with the help of her daughters, Rue Rose Shumpert and Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr. The recording artist shared a promo for her new sneakers, The Rose in Harlem 1’s, with her Instagram fans this past Tuesday (Jun. 6) that featured her favorite girls.
“Dreams and fairytales are more realistic than the mind perceives it [to] be,” Teyana shared with her social media supporters. “A tangible dream is simply a non-fictional fairytale,” Taylor added.
“As a dreamer, I was often afraid to join life’s magic on the dance floor until I truly started believing [in] myself,” the entertainer revealed. “Growing up, I was not the typical girl or kid for that matter,” Teyana revealed. “I knew life had more to offer,” she added.
“This sneaker represents not only my story, but it represents everyone who has a dream,” Taylor shared in reference to The Rose in Harlem 1’s. “Be brave enough to be different, and allow life and TIME to Evolve You.”
Teyana Taylor promoted her new sneaker design by portraying her upbringing. The entertainer solicited the help of her daughters to convey her point. “This is my love letter to Harlem and all of the dreamers around the world,” Teyana told her social media fans.
“Thank you to the village that helped tell the story of a dreamer that bloomed from the concrete with this beautiful commercial and this beautiful sneaker,” the artist wrote. “A Special Thank you to Father God, The whole @jumpman23 family, my friends, family, all my supporters, rose petals, all my PETUNIA’S, #teamteyana and #neutchnation,” the singer expressed.
“We SOLD OUT The Rose In Harlem 1’s IN LESS THAN 6 MINS,” Taylor shared with her supporters. “I am forever grateful,” the celebrity mom wrote.
Teyana Taylor has been quite busy with establishing herself as an actress. It was just a few weeks ago that the star mom had her husband, Iman Shumpert Sr., and their kids with her at the premiere of A Thousand And One.
“When I retired [from music], I really wanted to focus on directing and acting,” Teyana said of her venture into film. “This is the first project that I did since stepping into that world,” Taylor shared.
A Thousand And One received good reviews from critics who were impressed by Teyana’s incredible skill. “I knew that I had something to prove,” Taylor shared when discussing her mentality when delving into the project.
“There was no time for games,” the actress continued. “I knew that this was something that I wanted to fight for. I knew it was something that I wanted to earn.”
