Angela and Alfonso Ribeiro’s daughter, Ava Ribeiro, is recovering after a scooter incident left her injured. The accident occurred the day before the youngster celebrated her fourth birthday.
Both Angela and Alfonso took to Instagram to show a picture of Ava who sustained bruises from the incident. “ “My poor baby,” Angela wrote online last Friday.
“I woke up and had a vision/motherly intuition of Ava ending up in the ER today. I announced to the fam (sic), kids, sitter, and friends helping out getting ready for Ava’s birthday party that ‘we are not doing anything crazy or dangerous today that could potentially end up with an ER visit,’” Mrs. Ribeiro continued. “I literally made everyone lock eyes to me when I said these words,” the celebrity mom shared.
“Sadly, my words were soon forgotten and long story short, this poor girl crashed off a sit-down scooter … the day before her bday,” Angela said of Ava’s accident. “Not a fun way to spend your last day as a 3-year old, but she was a trooper. Giving this sweet girl some extra cuddles tonight.”
Alfonso Ribeiro also commented on his daughter’s accident while appearing on Live with Kelly and Mark on Tuesday.
“On Thursday, unfortunately, my daughter got injured and had to have emergency surgery,” Ribeiro told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. “So it was a very stressful weekend. She fell and had basically road rash on her face and arm, and so they had to scalpel off all the skin.”
Ava was brave during surgery and the epitome of happiness on her fourth birthday. “This sweet yet fierce, charismatic, independent, and insanely smart girl turned 4 yesterday,” Angela told her social media fans on Sunday (May 14). “Even though part of me is not ready for my baby to get older, I love watching her grow,” Angela shared.
“She is full of personality, wise beyond her years, can sing beautifully on key without a single voice lesson, and is already a master negotiator,” Mrs. Ribeiro said of her daughter. “I love her imagination, bravery, athleticism, and her ability to express and show love. And even with her nasty spill the day before her party, this tough girl didn’t complain once about the pain or when I had to apply the ointment every two hours. Happy 4th Birthday, Ava Sue. Beyond blessed to be your mama.”
Ava is one of three children Angela and Alfonso Ribeiro have together. The celebrity couple also has two sons named Anders and Alfonso Jr. Alfonso also has an older daughter named Sienna from a previous relationship.
