Jamie Foxx has been out of the hospital for weeks, according to his daughter, Corinne Foxx, who gave an update on the entertainer’s condition on Friday (May 12).
Corinne addressed rumors that Jamie’s family was preparing for the worst while hoping for the best. The actress scrutinized such a claim by telling her supporters on Instagram that her father had been released from the hospital.
“Update from the family,” Corinne began her post. “Sad to see how the media runs wild,” Corinne shared. “My dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”
In addition to giving an update on her father’s health, Corinne also shared plans to reveal the details of “an exciting work announcement” next week.
Jamie Foxx suffered a medical emergency last month while filming for Netflix’s Back In Action. The actor was in Atlanta at the time the emergency occurred.
Jamie took to Instagram at the beginning of the month to thank his fans for their support. “Appreciate all the love,” the actor wrote in a social media post shared on Instagram. “Feeling blessed,” Jamie revealed.
Many were happy to hear from the actor earlier this month. A few, however, questioned the post and even accused Corinne of attempting to gain sympathy.
“Publicity for a mysterious illness,” one critic shared. “It doesn’t make sense,” the social media follower added. “‘Just wanted to let you know my dad has a mysterious illness. He’s in the hospital. Not gonna (sic) update you or let you know what’s going on but just want to get the publicity out there.’” Another critic demanded Corinne to “tell us the truth about your father.”
There were certainly those who attempted to create scandal. Most fans, however, were happy to hear of Jamie Foxx’s progress.
“So thankful Jamie is okay,” one supporter exclaimed. “Scared me to hear he had a complication,” the fan continued. “Love him, and will be praying for his speedy recovery.”
Jamie Foxx has two kids. Corinne is the actor’s oldest child. Jamie’s youngest daughter, Anelise Bishop, celebrates her fifteenth birthday this year.
