Kevin Hart’s plant-based fast-food chain, Hart House, is expanding with the opening of its third location in Hollywood, California. Over the weekend, Hart celebrated the opening with his wife and kids at a private event.
Hart expressed his excitement about the new location, saying, “Yesterday’s @myharthouse Family & Friends event at our new Hollywood location was absolutely amazing!!!!! So much love & great energy was in the air!!!!! We are opening up this location on May 23rd and we are excited as hell about it. Our first drive thru location!!!!!!”
He continued, “We are growing and the reason behind the growth is simple….you are loving our food!!!! It’s good as hell…. @myharthouse is a Plant-base fast food chain that will soon be in a city near all of you!!!!! Mark My words!!!!! Come see what all of the hype is about and “Eat Your Hart Out” with us #HartHouse.”
The comedian and his partner, Andy Hooper, started Hart House last year with a restaurant in Westchester and another in Monrovia.
“We’ve got In-N-Out and Chick-fil-A across the street,” says Andy Hooper. “This is us showing we’re going toe-to-toe with established restaurants.”
Hart House’s burgers and other healthy offerings are made with a combination of pea protein, chickpeas, and soy, designed to appeal to both flexitarians and omnivores. “We’re trying to convince the 97 percent of America who don’t eat vegan to indulge,” Hooper said.
Hart’s interest in plant-based eating began during his recovery from a car crash in Malibu in 2019. “During rehab, he incorporated more plant-based foods into his diet,” Hooper says. “He was trying to make changes but found that on the road, [vegan] options were not as prevalent. So we designed this menu for flexitarians and omnivores. We’re trying to convince the 97 percent of America who don’t eat vegan to indulge,” Hooper said.
