Marcille is seeking legal and primary custody of their kids, child support, and assistance with “care and maintenance” and medical costs. She is also requesting “equitable division” of assets gained during their marriage, as well as her own separate property.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star filed for divorce on March 23, citing an “irretrievably broken” marriage, according to court documents.
In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Marcille said, “This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting. Our children remain our biggest priority and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
Despite the divorce filing, Sterling is determined to win his wife back. He stated in an interview with The JasmineBrand, “I am not going to lose my wife. I am going to fight for her with every fiber in my being. I love her, and I plan to show her how much I love her and that our love is strong enough to get to the other side.”
Marcille and Sterling married on October 7, 2018, and are currently separated, according to her attorney. The estranged couple have three children together: Michael Sterling Jr.,4, Maverick Sterling, 3, and Marley Rae, who is Marcille’s 9-year-old daughter from a previous relationship with ex Kevin McCall,
In 2020, Eva changed her daughter’s last name from McCall to Sterling. During an appearance on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show, Eva shared that “Marley was born in 2014 and I gave her her biological father’s name. After two months, we became estranged and I raised her as a single mom,” she explained at the time.
