NIPSEY HUSSLE’S KIDS NOW OWN HIS MARATHON CLOTHING STORE

"Important"

Nipsey Hussle’s kids, Emani Asghedom and Kross Ermias Asghedom, are the owners of The Marathon Clothing store. The late rapper’s brother, Samiel Asghedom, recently explained the reason for putting the business in the kids’ names.

“When I say we own it, it’s in Hussle’s kids’ names,” Samiel shared during an interview with Earn Your Leisure. “This is something their father worked for, and that they own, and that’s important to me,” the artist shared. “Also, just having a brick and mortar, once again reinforced what Hussle told us, and taught us.”

Nipsey Hussle was murdered outside of his clothing store on March 31, 2019. The rapper’s former acquaintance was arrested and convicted of Hussle’s death several months after committing the treacherous act.

Some thought The Marathon Clothing store would close after Nipsey’s death. The late rapper’s longtime partner, Lauren London, remained determined to keep the retail space open, though. Dozens overwhelmed The Marathon Clothing store’s online shopping space immediately following Hussle’s death.

Lauren has since expanded the brand with collaborations with other companies and a production company, Marathon Films, which will soon release a documentary in collaboration with SpringHill production called Hussle.

“It’s an incredible honor for SpringHill to have a part in sharing Nipsey’s story and legacy with the world,” LeBron James, owner of SpringHill production, said in a statement. “He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower, and uplift others along the way,” James shared.

“His words, his ambition, and his actions stick with me to this day as he continues to inspire myself, our company, and people everywhere.”

Hussle is expected to make its debut in the coming months. The documentary will highlight Nipsey Hussle’s rise to fame and his commitment to changing the community in which he grew up.
