DJ Mustard will pay his ex-wife, Chanel Thierry, $19,000 per month in child support. A judge decided on the matter, which is a temporary agreement, earlier this week.
Chanel previously asked the courts to grant $80,000 per month in child support for their children. Thierry claimed her ex-husband was more than capable of paying such an exorbitant amount because of his success in the music industry.
“[DJ Mustard] is a successful American Record Producer who makes an extraordinarily high living wage,” Chanel shared in court documents. “[He has] more than enough income to pay for both his and my attorney fees,” Thierry added.
DJ Mustard strongly objected to paying his wife $80,000 per month in child support payments. He revealed his willingness to pay $19,000 per month in financial support.
“Chanel’s claim that I have starved her out financially since separation is a flat-out lie,” Mustard shared in a statement. “From the time Chanel and I separated in May 2022, I continued to uphold my obligation to support her and the children,” the artist continued.
“I continued to pay all of Chanel’s living expenses, including all of her credit card bills,” DJ Mustard revealed. “I also continued paying Chanel’s housing costs and the children’s expenses including private school tuition. Finally, I have also paid 100 percent of our agreed-upon spousal support buy-out of $315,000 in accordance with the terms of the Premarital Agreement.”
Chanel has expressed her desire to receive $35,000 per month in spousal support from her ex-husband. She has also defended her stance and refuted accusations of her attempting to defame her former spouse.
“I cannot control what the media outlets pull from my social media page and what they infer from my writings,” Chanel shared at one point. Thierry promised to be “more cautious” with what she shares online going forward at the advice of her attorney.
The proceedings between DJ Mustard and Chanel Thierry continue to be ongoing.
