Congratulations are in order for Jordyn McIntosh as the rising star has been tapped to star opposite Kerry Washington in a new Onyx Collective comedy series.
According to Deadline, the upcoming comedy is created and executive produced by Tracy McMillan. The new project will definitely give us an up close glimpse into McMillan’s world. Below is a brief synopsis of what viewers can expect.
The series, inspired by her [McMillan’s] life, is about a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist and single mom Paige, (Kerry Washington), whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad (Delroy Lindo) gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son, [portrayed by Faly Rakotohavana].
Per the popular entertainment industry news outlet, in the upcoming comedy, McIntosh portrays a young Paige at seven-years-old. Little Paige is the personification of grown-up Paige’s Inner Child. She is the part of Paige untouched by everything that has happened in her life — losing her mother, foster care, a dad in prison. She shows up regularly, speaking directly to us, [the viewer], (and to Paige) with a hilarious and incisive wisdom of the all-knowing child.
If McIntosh’s face looks familiar, then it should. The talented young actress recently starred in the Apple + movie, Emancipation, alongside Will Smith.
Additionally, she can be seen onscreen in The Storied Life of AJ Fikry opposite Kunal Nayar. McIntosh also portrayed a young Sasha Obama in Showtime’s The First Lady and had a guest-starring role on the award-winning hit television series, Abbott Elementary.
This adorable young rising star was drawn to acting at the age of 4, beginning her career in theater, in Atlanta, GA.
Per her official IMDb page, this talented 10-year-old definitely takes time out of her schedule to have fun and enjoy life as she loves playing with her sibling and video games.
