Marques Houston is loving his life as a family man. The veteran actor and R&B singer recently shared a candid of his wife, Miya, and their daughter, Zara Houston.
“Mood 2023,” said Marques of the candid. Miya was photographed while holding Zara close. The doting mom and her daughter looked up and away from the camera’s lens for the perfect shot.
“Beautiful ladies,” one fan said. “God bless you and your family.” Another of Marques’ Instagram followers wrote, “Too much cuteness” in reference to the adorable mother-daughter shot.
It has been nearly two years since the public learned of Marques and Miya’s matrimony and their welcoming of a daughter. The actor spoke with the press about his love for family in 2021.
“I always say being a husband and father are two of my biggest accomplishments in life so I take that very seriously. I’m really, really happy about being a dad,” Marques shared.
“Zara listens to my album and I put it on for her,” the celebrity father said of his daughter’s engagement with his music. “She’ll even try to sing along,” he added. “She can’t really sing or anything like that yet but she tries to make little noises and kind of groove to the music,” Marques clarified. “And so that’s why I say the inspiration is just life, just really me knowing who I am as a person and as a husband and father,” the actor declared.
Some celebrities hope their children follow in their footsteps. Marques, however, is not interested in pulling his daughter into show business if such is not her desire.
“I want Zara to be able to carve out an interest in life early and whatever that may be, I want to be able to support her if it’s the right thing to support,” Houston shared with the press. “I just want to be sure that I’m a great father, that I raise her well with all the spiritual values that I was raised with,” he added.
Zara is Miya and Marques Houston’s only child.
