“Deuce Day,” Jayson said of his son’s special day. “Happy 5th birthday to my best friend in the world,” the celebrity father wrote to his little one. “Love you, kid.”

Little Jayson is responsible for making his father a better athlete. It was during a recent interview that Jayson Sr. revealed parenthood as the driving force behind his motivation on the basketball court.

“He was born in 2017,” Jayson shared with the press. “That was the biggest year of my life,” he added. “[I was] starting this new chapter in my career and I just had a child. My mindset was not to sacrifice either. I was going to be the best father I could as well as the best basketball player.”

Jayson has learned much about fatherhood and what it means to be a great athlete since 2017. “He made me grow up faster,” the celebrity father said of his son during a recent interview with In Depth. “I wouldn’t change it for the world,” Jayson shared. “It motivates me. Seeing him come to all the games, practice, watch me work out… he motivates me to be the best player, father, best role model that I can be.”

Being the best father and role model for Jayson includes adopting a healthy nutrition schedule. “I want to eat better. I want to change my diet,” Tatum told the press. “I’ve never been on a diet,” he continued. “I’ve always been able to eat what I want, but I’m just trying to find ways to get myself an edge … like eating more consistently, eating better, losing body fat, trying to gain muscle.”

LeBron James was one of several star athletes to give little Jayson birthday wishes on his special day. “Happy Bday Deuce,” James wrote to the youngster. “Do whatever you want,” the star athlete continued. “Idc (I don’t care) what your daddy says,” James mused.
