ERICA MENA ACCUSES SAFAREE OF MAKING HER ‘A SINGLE MOTHER TWICE’

"That Man Didn't Care"

Erica Mena is airing out her feelings about Safaree and their failed marriage. The Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta (LHHATL) star delved into her family life during the season’s reunion episode.

“I’ve had some faults in my marriage,” Erica admitted when discussing her and Safaree’s divorce. “But, at the same time, I’ve also swept so much under the rug,” she shared. “And I think that’s why I got taken advantage of. Because for the first time I thought I was safe.”

Erica Mena and Safaree wed in 2019, which was months before welcoming their daughter, Safire Majesty, in February 2020. The Reality TV stars moved to divorce one another last year after Safaree’s infidelity was made public. Erica was pregnant with her and Safaree’s son, Legend, at the time.

“I was in the hospital bed with this man’s son. That man didn’t care if I made it through that pregnancy. That man didn’t care if I made it through that labor. I really have fought through some dark times,” Erica shared during the LHHATL reunion episode.

“Like, literally, I couldn’t get out of bed,” she added. “There were days I could not eat, but at the same time, I had to face my kids and act like everything is okay because I’m the only one that feeds them on a day-to-day basis. I had to drag myself out of that dark place.”

Erica also has a son named King whom she welcomed in 2007. “With my first son, because I has to hustle so much, I sacrificed so much time away from my firstborn and I’m still trying to make it up to this day,” Mena shared during the reunion episode. “And this is stuff that I’ve confessed and been vulnerable to him about,” she continued. “That’s why it’s weird that he knows the traumatic experience I’ve had of being a single mother once, and then he turns around and makes me a single mother twice.”

Safaree revealed that his coping mechanism is to become numb to issues and pretend there is no pain. “But there is pain,” the LHHATL star said when discussing his failed marriage to Erica Mena.

“I’ve already come to terms that Safaree will never take accountability, and that’s fine,” Mena said of her ex-husband. “He don’t owe me nothing (sic),” Erica added. “All he owes now is his kids. And that’s all I care about.”
