Just in time for the holidays! Kimora Lee Simmons and her kids are bringing something fresh to their Baby Phat brand. The fashion mogul has teamed up with Forever 21 for a winter collection.
“Since Forever 21 customers love our collabs, we’re excited to debut the exclusive Baby Phat winter collection and also re-introduce our Phat Farm brand just in time for the holidays,” Kimora said in a statement regarding the latest collaboration.
Baby Phat’s winter collection follows a Winter Wonderland theme with Y2K vibes that may give a few consumers a bit of nostalgia. “This winter-wonderland themed collection features Y2K inspired design elements that are central to Baby Phat and Phat Farm’s core aesthetic that consumers know and cherish, and reintroduces them in a fresh new way,” Winnie Park, CEO of Forever 21, said in a statement.
The price point of Baby Phat’s winter collction is also ideal as pieces range from $9.99 to $129.99. There is essentially something for everyone.
Kimora Lee Simmons views Baby Phat as more than just an apparel line. The celebrity mom recently revealed her ideology of her brand serving as a legacy for her kids.
“It’s exciting to see the girls grow up,” Kimora said during a recent interview. “Obviously they’re independent, they have their own will and wishes,” the fashion mogul shared of her daughters, Aoki and Ming. “I’m trying to create for them a very strong business sense and a very strong sense of independence and autonomy,” Kimora told the press. “I want them to know that I’m growing something for them — me and them. That’s it. Me and my five kids.”
Kimora went on to explain, “It’s about creating that legacy. I want [them] to understand the legacy of the business that was created for [them]. It’s been a 20 year plus ride and I want them to understand that.”
“I think today a lot of kids go to school and come out and they don’t know how to secure a mortgage. They don’t know how to invest. They don’t know how to take a dollar and turn it into five. I want [my kids] to understand those things and have fun. And I think they do.”
