The actress and director took in the sights and activities at the Historically Black College/University (HBCU) while her daughter engaged with the events on campus. Stacey Abrams, who is running for Governor of Georgia, was also present during Homecoming weekend at Spelman. The politician is an alumni of the college and received support from Zahara.

It was just a few weeks ago that Angelina Jolie sent her daughter off to Spelman College as a freshman. The veteran actress had the opportunity to get a feel for the campus during her daughter’s orientation and deemed the school a special place. Zahara’s dad, Brad Pitt, also commented on his daughter’s collegiate decision.

“I’m so proud of her,” Pitt told the media. “She’s so smart,” he added. “She’s going to flourish even more at college. It’s an exciting and beautiful time to find her own way and pursue her interests. I’m so proud.”

Zahara has already gotten her feet wet in politics and activism. The youngster accompanied her mom to Washington D.C. earlier this year to advocate for protections for women through the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act. The act supports comprehensive and cost-effective responses to domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. President Biden signed the reauthorization into law on March 15, 2022.

“I’m grateful and humbled to join with dedicated advocates and legislators,” Angelina Jolie said weeks before the act passed. “I’m also glad to share in the advocacy with Zahara — and for her presence to calm my nerves before today’s press conference,” the celebrity mom told her fans in February.

Zahara is one of six children Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie parent together. The youngster was adopted from Ethiopia by her parents five months after her birth.
