Sean “Diddy” Combs is being sued by his former babysitter. The woman, who goes by the name of Raven, recently filed documents with the courts that accuse the Hip Hop mogul of wrongful termination.
According to the documents, obtained by TMZ, Diddy hired his nanny to work on a full-time basis in November 2018. The employment was due to the untimely passing of Kim Porter who was mom to three biological children with Diddy. The nanny was hired to care for Kim and Diddy’s twins, Jessie and D’Lila, around the clock. She allegedly fulfilled her duties until she was terminated by the celebrity father in 2020.
According to the nanny, Diddy fired her for becoming pregnant while unmarried. Such a life change allegedly set a bad example for the Hip Hop mogul’s twins. The nanny expressed the theory of her termination as the sole result of her expectancy and request for maternity leave. She filed a lawsuit seeking compensation related to wrongful termination.
A spokesperson from Diddy’s team released a statement regarding the lawsuit. “This lawsuit is a meritless shakedown to extort money from Mr. Combs,” the representative said on Thursday (Sep. 29). “Raven is not the niece of Kim Porter as she falsely alleges; nor is there any legal basis for this case to be filed under the anonymity as a ‘Jane Doe,'” the spokesperson shared.
“Raven was a part-time babysitter to the twins who Mr. Combs kept on the job back in 2018 to provide continuity for the twins following the untimely death of their mother,” the representative explained to the press. “Mr. Combs graciously permitted Raven to live in his home with her son and treated them like ‘family,'” the spokesperson clarified to further refute the former nanny’s claim of being the late Kim Porter’s niece.
“Her babysitting services were always intended to be temporary especially since the girls were getting older and spending most of the day at school,” Diddy’s rep continued. “In fact, Raven’s transition out of her role was planned and agreed to by her long before she even mentioned that she was pregnant. Mr. Combs will take swift and immediate action to protect his family against these false claims.”
