The 15th Annual Headies Awards took place this past weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. Mendeecees Harris, Jr., served as an award presenter alongside his stepmom, Yandy Smith-Harris, at the event.
“The 15th Annual Headies Awards were nothing short of amazing,” Yandy said of the ceremony after the festivities ended. “I met so many of my Afrobeat favorites,” the celebrity mom said. “The best part was bringing my big boy that loves his AFRICAN ROOTS AND CULTURE. WHAT A TIME WE HAD,” Smith-Harris exclaimed.
Mendeecees Harris, Jr., not only had the opportunity to attend the awards ceremony but he also got to serve as a co-presenter for one of the awards alongside his mom. “It was a pleasure to be able to hand out this year’s Afro Beats Headies awards to the deserving artistes,” young Mendeecess told his social media fans after the event. “Lights, camera, action,” the teen hashtagged.
Yandy Smith-Harris also commented on her chance to share the stage with Mendeecess Jr. “A+ student, fashion line coming, model, hair ambassador with [a] heart of gold,” the celebrity mom said of her stepson’s character. “Love this lil boy,” Yandy told her fans.
Yandy Smith and her husband, Mendeecees Harris Sr., work hard to cultivate a beautiful blended family. “I’m so appreciative of that relationship that I have with little Mendeecees because he really taught me how to love on another level,” Yandy said of her relationship with her stepson during a recent interview.
“The love you have for your man or friend is completely different from the love you have for a child that depends on you,” the celebrity mom shared. “He was my first experience at helping raise a child,” Yandy told the press. “I was able to get a test to run before I had to go full throttle with my own.”
Yandy and Mendeecees parent four kids in all. Mendeecess Jr. is Mendeecees oldest son.
