Tristan “Mack” Wilds and his wife Christina Hammond are expecting their second child together. Wilds took to his Instagram earlier today to share photos of his pregnant wife and to wish her a ‘Happy Birthday’.
“One thing about me, i don’t miss. ha! Happy birthday, my love,” he captioned.
Christina also shared maternity photos with her followers saying, “All praises due to the most high. Grateful to see another year. Blessed to be surrounded by so much love.”
The Wilds tied the knot on Dec. 17, 2020, one year after welcoming their first child together, a baby girl named Tristyn Naomi Wilds.
“Our wedding was perfect,” Hammond told E! News of their wedding day. “We wanted an intimate ceremony and so it was just us, Tristyn and our parents on Zoom. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day.”
“We got married, in a way, akin to how we started — just us,” Wilds added. “Never needed much else. With the addition of our parents and our baby, it really made for a magical moment.”
The actor recently revealed his battle with depression and how the birth of his baby girl helped him move forward during an episode of OWN’s They Call Me Dad.
“Honestly, I had been there for a while,” Wilds said of his mental state, which led to suicidal ideation. “I was just letting life take me wherever she may,” the actor shared. “I kind of just started to think people would probably be better off without me being here,” Wilds further explained. “Tristyn was a very big part of the motivation to get pulled out of that dark place. That’s the push I needed to get towards the light.”
Tristyn was born on December 11, 2019 and will celebrate her third birth this year.
“I want to teach my daughter, one, to enjoy who she is,” Wilds said of the values he hopes to instill in his little one. “[I want to teach her] to enjoy her femininity, her Blackness but also understand that you are entitled to everything that the world has to offer just like anybody else,” the celebrity father shared. “No matter gender, color, or anything,” Wilds concluded.
