Jill Scott’s son, Jett Hamilton Roberts, is growing before our eyes. The youngster was recently photographed while attending Marsai Martin’s birthday party with his mom. Fans could not believe how much Jett has grown since his younger years of joining mom at awards shows.
“Look at that young fella coming into his own,” Kier Gaines said of Jett’s growth. “You love to see it!” In the candid, Jett stands next to his mom who is seated in a chair fit for a queen. The youngster is wearing a crown fit for a prince or king and looking at the camera’s lens while his mom looks at him.
“That cannot be JETT,” one of Jill’s social media fans said. “I refuse to believe it,” the supporter declared. “He is definitely your twin,” another Instagram follower agreed.
Jett made Jill Scott a mom in 2009. The youngster has tapped into his musical abilities as both a singer and an instrumentalist. It was in 2019 that Scott shared a video clip that featured her son playing the piano to a Stevie Wonder tune. Jett executed the rendition with a level of skill that was quite impressive given his age at the time. “Coming along nicely,” Jill Scott said of her son’s playing. “I love this kid,” the celebrity mom shared. “Thank you, Stevie Wonder.”
Jill Scott is considered by many to be a single mother. The recording artist told the press in 2020, though, that she has never taken on such a title.
“I never really considered myself a single parent because I was blessed to have a village of family and friends who love us and assist in every way to help him become a really kind person and a genuine person,” Jill shared during an interview on The Tamron Hall Show. “Uncle Scott and Uncle Lance are my brothers from another mother,” the celebrity mom said.
“They teach him how to fight. They remind him of what manners are supposed to be. They remind him to take out the trash and celebrate him for doing these things,” Scott said regarding her son and the “village” she has to help rear him.
Jett celebrated his thirteenth birthday in April.
