Zahara Jolie-Pitt and Krista Campbell are gearing up for their Freshman year at Spelman College. The young scholars got the official send-off from their parents last week. Warryn and Erica Campbell shared pictures from their daughter Krista’s official move-in day. Angelina Jolie was joined by Zahara’s siblings on the special day.
Spelman College describes move-in day as “an occasion of thanks, reflection, and encouragement for our new students and their families. The moment officially marks the beginning of each Spelmanite’s journey of self-discovery and independence.”
Independence was likely the vibe Krista was feeling as she traveled from Los Angeles, California, to Atlanta, Georgia, with her parents and siblings. Erica shared pictures of her oldest daughter standing beside boxes that appeared ready for shipment. Krista was also photographed upon her arrival to her dorm room.
“So I had this plan of posting when we got here but I had to just take these last moments even though I’m gonna see her again before we leave, today felt so final,” Erica shared with her social media fans. “I’m so proud and nervous,” the Gospel recording artist admitted. “God I’m gonna miss my girl, my singer, my firstborn, the BG (big girl),” Campbell shared.
It took the Campbells two weeks to commute from California to Georgia. The family elected to drive across the country instead of traveling by plane or train.
Angelina Jolie also felt her emotions rise as she brought her daughter, Zahara, to Spelman for move-in day. “I’m going to start crying,” Jolie said while sharing her excitement about her daughter being a part of the Spelman community. “I have not started crying yet,” Angelina revealed. “I heard tomorrow night’s the big night.”
Fans learned of Zahara’s decision to attend Spelman College last month. Warryn Campbell revealed Krista’s decision to attend the HBCU in June. Fall classes begin at the college later this month.
