Erykah Badu’s daughter, Puma, is 18 years old! The young adult took to Instagram with a celebration of her special day this past Tuesday (Jul. 12).

“18 or wtv,” Puma captioned underneath footage from what appeared to be a birthday party. “Happy birthday, baddie,” one social media said after seeing the social media post. “Your honor, she’s slaying,” another Instagram follower said after seeing Puma’s birthday attire. The youngster went for edginess with a mini dress that hugged all of her curves. “She’s so fine, y’all.”

Many know Puma from her incredible covers of some of the hottest songs in the industry. Her more recent rendition of ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ by Alicia Keys impressed the original singer of the song. “Whaaaat?!,” Alicia Keys exclaimed after seeing the video clip of Puma rendering her selection. “Sing,” Keys exclaimed. “Listen, girl … talk to ’em … Yes! … Yes! … Swag on ’em, swag!”

Puma certainly appears determined to follow in her parents’ footsteps as a recording artist. Erykah Badu is, after all, recognized by many as one of the most brilliant artists presently in the industry. Puma’s father, The D.O.C., is also well-known with nods from Dr. Dre and other legendary creators.

Erykah Badu recently sat down with the press to discuss her career and who she hopes to collaborate with in the coming years. “I would really like to do something with Ari Lennox, SZA, Kehlani, Steve Lacy, Thundercat,” Erykah told the media. “Just people in the same world,” she added. “Doesn’t have to be the same genre, voices don’t need to sound alike but it’s a thing that connects us. Like we each have a magnet inside of us that draws us together.”

Erykah Badu has three kids – Puma, Seven, and Mars – in all. Puma is her only child with The D.O.C. Mars is Erykah’s youngest child.
