“Me’arah’s 16/16 Club” was the theme chosen for the teen’s bash. Shaunie and Shaq heavily relied on the red carpet appeal when having a photo area for their daughter and her friends. Aaron of Your Favorite Lens photography took pictures at the event. “Thank you for everything,” Me’arah wrote to the photographer after her party.

Shaunie O’Neal wrote her daughter a beautiful message on Me’arah’s special day. “Well it’s my babygirl’s 16th birthday,” Shaunie told her Instagram fans. “I’m pretty sure we made an agreement that she was going to stay 15. But so much for that,” the celebrity mom mused.

“I am so very proud to be your Mother,” Shaunie told Me’arah. “I can’t believe you are 16,” she exclaimed. “Please continue being the shining star that you are. You are so very talented, beautiful, super intelligent and mature beyond your years. One of my favorite things about you is your discernment. You are just absolutely amazing and I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!”

Me’arah is one of six children Shaq and Shaunie parent together. Shaunie opened up about her co-parenting relationship with Shaq during an interview with Tamron Hall last year.

“We have a great co-parenting relationship, seriously,” Shaunie shared with the talk show host. “It took us a long time to get there — don’t get me wrong, it was not an easy journey — but once we got there, and I think we felt comfortable being honest with each other and just sharing what was going on in our lives, in our personal lives to a certain extent,” the celebrity mom said.

Shaq recently blamed himself for his and Shaunie’s failed marriage, which ended in 2011 after nearly 10 years. “Sometimes when you live that double life, you get caught up,” the retired NBA player said. “I’m not going to say it was her,” Shaq added. “It was all me.”
