Kimora Lee Simmons and her daughters, Ming Lee Simmons and Aoki Lee Simmons, were three of many to attend funeral services for the late Andre Leon Talley on Friday, April 29, 2022. The fashion mogul wrote a moving tribute to the celebrated journalist and fashion icon on her Instagram page.
“My Dearest Andre, You were a soul unlike any other,” Kimora wrote to Andre. “Brave, brilliant, and giving of your love and talents,” she continued. “I will miss our laughter and the strength and inspiration you gave to me, my kids, and countless others. We are forever changed having known and loved you.”
Andre Leon Talley passed away on January 18, 2022. He was recognized by many as one who trailblazed in the fashion industry. Anna Wintour was especially emotional during Talley’s memorial service in Harlem, New York, as she had the opportunity to establish a special bond with the journalist during his time at Vogue. “He crossed the Atlantic to be with me when my mother died,” Anna told attendees during Friday’s service. Wintour could not hold back the tears during her tribute to her late friend.
“Your memorial was a true celebration,” Kimora Lee Simmons wrote to Andre in her tribute on Instagram. “We were surrounded by your friends, loved ones, and colleagues, joined in mutual admiration and appreciation of all your many gifts,” the legendary model continued. “I am inspired to carry on your work and legacy with all of my remaining days. Farewell friend, With so much love.”
Ming Lee Simmons and Aoki Lee Simmons wore black attire to Andre Leon Talley’s funeral. Kimora Lee Simmons decided to wear a white dress to the ceremony.
“What a beautiful memorial to Andre,” one social media follower said after seeing the pictures of Kimora with her daughters and reading the tribute the fashion mogul wrote to the late journalist.
Another Instagram fan commented on Kimora’s appearance in the photos. “How does the mom look like the sister,” the social media follower asked. “Age where?”
