The Bowery Mission has been fighting homelessness and poverty since the 1870s. The nonprofit provided more than 250,000 meals last year along with 54,000 nights of shelter to those in need. The Bowery Mission offered 30,000 emergency showers to the homeless in 2021.

“The Dean family would like to give thanks to @bowerymission for all the amazing work they do every day,” Swizz Beatz shared with his social media fans on Wednesday (Apr. 6). “NYC with love,” the producer continued. “Please reach out to them so you and your family can do some great service for the people,” Swizz suggested.

Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys are finding ways to go deeper these days. Not only does the couple engage in charity work with their kids, but Alicia also has a skincare company, Keys Soulcare, that promotes self-love. Alicia got the idea of a beauty line after deciding to go without makeup in public. The decision made the news and was considered a revolutionary act.

“Where did these ideas that you’re supposed to look a certain way in order to be considered beautiful come from,” Alicia Keys asked during a recent interview with The Guardian. “It came to a point when I realized I was in this very crazy weird space where I would take my son to school and I was literally stressed out about the way I looked because I felt I had to look a certain way,” the recording artist said.

“From 18-30, I had a very difficult experience with my skin,” Alicia shared with the press. “I was under a lot of pressure and stress and my skin just went ballistic,” the singer admitted. “Finally, when I had Egypt at 30, something changed … the testosterone, my hormones, whatever the hell … I also started to recognize the toxic things that were in my life, the relationships and behaviors I was accepting that I didn’t need to any longer.”

“My skin changed when I started to take care of myself. I realized it’s not just what you put on your skin, it is what you put in.”

Alicia Keys encourages adults and youth alike to embrace their inner lights. “My body is a vessel of light, love, and strength,” Keys told The Guardian. “You shine at full wattage.”
