Recently, Ciara opened up about her trip to the White House with her kids. The Grammy Award-winning entertainer shared some truly funny stories on The Ellen DeGeneres show.
In one of her final appearances on the show, Ciara discussed championing for vaccinations and her New Year’s resolutions on prioritizing her health and self-care. Additionally, the “Level Up” singer talked about her family’s recent visit with Dr. Biden at the White House and Russell Wilson’s reaction to her most recent Instagram post.
When the talk-show host asked Ciara about her trip to the White House, she told DeGeneres that they “had the best time.”
In an Instagram post, the singer continued and said that, “It was a joy to take my children to the @WhiteHouse. A day we will remember forever. Thank you @Flotus for the invitation. It was a great time talking about the Vaccine for children. Let’s Level Up together.”
Ciara was unquestionably impressed with Dr. Biden, calling her “amazing.” She added, telling DeGeneres that, “‘Future goes, the first thing he says to the President, he goes, “I’m vaccinated!” And the President yells back, “I’m vaccinated too!”‘
Ciara also took the time to discuss her recent involvement in a cervical health awareness campaign, Cerving Confidence. The singer along with the Cerving Confidence team is working to raise awareness to the importance of cervical cancer screening via the Pap test as Black women are twice as likely to die from cervical cancer than White women.
According to the Cerving Confidence website, when detected early, cervical cancer and pre-cancer are highly treatable. In fact, up to 93% of cervical cancers are preventable. Yet despite the clear merit of consistent and thorough screening, nearly 20% of women aged 21-65 in the US in 2018 reported they were not up-to-date with cervical cancer screening – that’s 16 million women not following up on their gynecologic health as recommended.
