Sixteen-year-old Zahara Jolie-Pitt is following in her mother’s footsteps in more ways than one. The teen recently joined her mom Angelina Jolie in the fight for women’s rights.
“Honored to visit Washington, DC, with Zahara, working with advocates and lawmakers to modernize and strengthen the #ViolenceAgainstWomenAct to include protections for children’s health and safety, communities of color, tribes, LGBTQ survivors, rural areas, and all survivors,” Jolie wrote in an Instagram post. “We need reforms including judicial training, trauma-informed court processes that minimize the risk of harm to children, grant programs for technology to detect bruising across all skin tones and create non-biased forensic evidence collection, and protections for the most vulnerable.”
She continued with a call-to-action, letting people know how they could get involved, “To learn more about VAWA reauthorization and why safety can’t wait, visit: www.4vawa.org (link in bio), and encourage Senators to cosponsor and support #VAWA4ALL.”
Zahara Jolie-Pitt was born on January 8, 2005, in Awasa, Ethiopia. Zahara was malnourished and sick with salmonella at the time per Hollywood Life. Angelina Jolie adopted Zahara when she was 6-months-old and she become part of the Jolie-Pitt family.
Since then, the beautiful young woman has grown into her own, doing a lot more than other teenagers her age. Of course, as a result of her parents being who they are, she’s attended a plethora of Hollywood red carpet events, appeared in a few movies herself, such as Kung Fu Panda: 3, and more. Yet, what people may not know is that Zahara is a true entrepreneur in her own right as she has launched her own jewelry collection, “The Zahara Collection”.
“The Zahara Collection” debuted in 2019 as the result of a partnership between Zahara and jeweler Robert Procop. Per People Magazine, the collection sold at Saks Fifth Avenue locations as well as other retail stores around the U.S. and Australia.
Now that she has added activist to her resume, we cannot wait to see what the future holds for this true Jolie-Pitt beauty.
