Madonna and her boyfriend, Ahlamalik, are getting into the Christmas spirit with her kids – Mercy, David, Estere, and Stelle. Madonna recently shared a video clip of the family decorating the tree.
“I’m the awkward-looking Elf,” Madonna said of her costume, which matched kids and boyfriend’s attire. “I think we sprayed too much snow on the tree,” the celebrity mom admitted. “But we had fun celebrating the last day of Hanukkah by decorating the X-mas tree,” Madonna shared.
The recording artist went on to explain her reasoning behind celebrating both Hannukah and Christmas. “Here is the thing. Jesus was a Jew and decorating the tree is a Pagan ritual,” Madonna said. “Life is a mystery,” the legendary singer continued. “So let’s embrace all faiths and rituals as long as they make us happy and we Are focused more on giving than receiving!”
Madonna has been the focus of criticism for years. Some have scrutinized the recording artist’s decision to adopt children from Africa. Others have criticized Madonna’s music as too edgy. Still, despite the negativity that comes her way, Madonna continues to remain true to herself.
“People have always been trying to silence me for one reason or another,” Madonna said during a recent interview with Vogue. “Whether it’s that I’m not pretty enough, I don’t sing well enough, I’m not talented enough, I’m not married enough, and now it’s that I’m not young enough,” the recording artist shared. “So they just keep trying to find a hook to hang their beef about me being alive on. Now I’m fighting ageism.”
Madonna recently suffered scrutiny from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson after she shared candids of herself striking alluring poses while wearing a negligee. Jackson publicly apologized for suggesting Madonna wear something less revealing.
“Nobody does what I do,” Madonna told Vogue in 2019. “And that’s kind of scary,” the celebrity admitted. “I can look back at women who I think were great and amazing – freedom fighters, like Simone de Beauvoir or Angela Davis – but they didn’t have kids,” Madonna explained.
“Being a single parent of six children, I continue to be creative and be an artist and be politically active, to have a voice, to do all the things that I do. So I mean, there isn’t anybody in my position.”
