Lela Rochon and Antoine Fuqua’s son, Brando Fuqua, is growing up before our eyes! The celebrity parents recently sent their growing kid off to homecoming. Lela shared pictures from the occasion with her social media fans.
“The Formal,” Lela told her social media fans. “Wow,” Tina Lawson wrote in response to seeing pictures from Brando’s pre-homecoming gathering. “A whole handsome grown man,” Lawson said. Another fan said, “He certainly dressed the part. Handsome young man.”
It was just a few months ago that Lela Rochon and Antoine Fuqua sent their daughter, Asia Rochon Fuqua, to the prom. Asia wore the same dress to prom that her mom wore to the premiere of Waiting To Exhale in 1995. “Yes, I saved the dress,” Lela told the social media fans. “[I] wasn’t sure why but now I know.”
Antoine and Lela sent their daughter off to college a few weeks ago. “I’m going to miss her,” Rochon said after helping her daughter get settled into her new life as a young adult. “My firstborn is moving out,” Lela told her social media fans. “It’s tough to see her go,” the Waiting To Exhale star said. “I’m proud and excited all at the same time.”
Some still remember Lela Rochon’s incredible performance in Waiting To Exhale. The actress, who portrays Robin in the film, was part of a smash-hit cast that included legendary actress Loretta Devine.
“It’s really affected, the way people look at Black women,” Loretta recently told the press. “It’s really about the relationships between Black women, and that hadn’t been seen before on movie screens,” Devine shared.
“It was my first time in a lead role,” Lela Rochon said of her experience when creating Waiting To Exhale. “I fought so hard for it because I felt very right for Robin, and the fact that Whitney [Houston] was already cast was huge to me.”
Will Lela Rochon and Antoine Fuqua’s kids follow in their footsteps? Fans will just have to wait and see!
