Safaree and Erica Mena are trying to figure out the best way to co-parent their kids. A recent episode of Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta (LHHATL) showed the celebrity couple discussing the reality of co-parenting.
“I haven’t been to the house for a few weeks,” Safaree told LHHATL viewers. “So this is the first time I’ve seen Erica since we both filed for divorce,” he added. “We just haven’t been speaking. We’ve got each other blocked. Nothing has been nice about our communication,” Safaree admitted. “I just want our relationship to just be co-parenting. No more arguing. [I want it to be] as calm [and] as smooth as possible.”
It appeared that Erica and Safaree would be able to have a conversation about co-parenting without bringing up their challenged marriage during the recent episode of LHHATL. The two quickly discovered, though, how difficult it can be to separate one from the other.
“I’m still going to be around. At the end of the day, whether me and you are together or not, I’m going to still be 100 percent for my family,” Safaree told Erica. The celebrity mom, who was expecting her second child with her husband at the time, responded by asking, “How when you don’t have a family now?” Safaree attempted to assure Erica that they were still a strong family unit. Erica, however, remained convinced that they were moving into the arena of a broken home.
“You’re living somewhere else. I’m living here. That’s a broken home,” Erica told her estranged husband during the recent episode of LHHATL. “And therefore, I have to suffer because you get to live where you stay 20 minutes away, wake up when you feel like it, do as you please,” Erica continued.
“I have to be around the clock, 24/7, a mother and a father, when you’re not around, to our children. I’m weeks away from giving birth to our son. It’s you that’s out of town. It’s me stuck in this house, by myself, taking care of our daughter.”
Erica Mena filed to divorce Safaree earlier this year after the celebrity father decided to go out of town during the final stages of her pregnancy. Mena had complained about her husband’s selfishness and overall absence from their home for months before finally deciding to go the way of marriage dissolution.
Safaree and Erica Mena welcomed their son, Legend, on June 29, 2021. The former couple’s daughter, Safire Majesty, celebrated her first birthday earlier this year.
