David Banda is 16-years-old! Madonna took to Instagram this week to celebrate her son’s sixteenth birthday.
“Sweet 16 in our New Back Yard,” Madonna exclaimed online. “So much to be grateful for,” the celebrity mom said.
Madonna gave David a beautiful birthday party in the backyard of her home that included balloons and food. The decorations had an element of maturity to them that were nothing short of fitting for someone who is growing by leaps and bounds.
“David Banda!! I cannot believe you have grown into This Young Man! This Artist. This Athlete. This Articulate and Charismatic Human. Who knew when i met you at Home of Hope Orphanage in Malawi, drinking coke out of a baby bottle and wearing no diaper that you would become this force of nature? Happy Sweet Sixteen! ” Madonna wrote in another Instagram post.
David Banda continues to make his mark in the spotlight despite some critics who have scrutinized both him and Madonna. It was just a few weeks ago that the Internet condemned David and his mom after he wore a dress. The youngster rocked the attire around the house. Critics were, nevertheless, angry to see Madonna celebrating her son’s fashion choice.
“A dude in a dress. What’s so amazing about this,” one critic asked after seeing footage of David walking around his home in the attire. “Her (sic) and Charlize Theron got a thing about emasculating Black boys,” the social media follower further observed. Despite the negativity that came Madonna’s way, the ‘Material Girl’ held true to her belief that “confidence is everything.”
In all, Madonna is a mom to six kids. The celebrity recently commemorated her birthday with all of her sons and daughters present.
“Birthdays are a time for Reflection, Gratitude, and Self Examination,” Madonna shared with her social media fans. The celebrity also uploaded candids from her party that featured her kids in several shots.
David Banda is Madonna’s son whom she adopted from Malawi when he was a small child. The celebrity mom also has adopted daughters Mercy, Stelle, and Estere whom she also adopted from the country. Lourdes and Rocco are Madonna’s biological children.
