Willow Smith is truly one talented Renaissance woman. The youngest Smith recently sat down with Vogue Magazine and dishes on being the face of Mugler’s new fragrance and more. Check out snippets of what she had to say below.
Smith on her connection to perfumes, never leaving home without a scent
Because I’m not great at doing makeup and my skin-care routine is very simple, scent is where I focus all of my energy. Ever since I was young, my mom used to mix essential oils and make her own perfumes.
Mugler’s new fragrance was the perfect fit for Smith, and here is why:
I’ve always been into everything existential and extraterrestrial,” she reflects. I’m also extremely inspired by mythic goddesses and I’m constantly reading about them.
The fragrance, the New Alien Goddess Eau de Parfum, touts notes of bergamot and Madagascar bourbon vanilla. It has been described as ” a universal call to all women” and Smith answered.

The name, Smith notes is “everything I’ve wanted to be since I was 11 or 12. [It] smells exactly like what I think a literal alien goddess would smell like sitting on a lotus flower in space.”
In addition to discussing being the face of Mugler’s new fragrance, Smith also dishes on how she combats stress…yoga.
I really wanted to master the moves. And I achieved a lot of the goals I had,” she says. “But I learned along the way, that’s not necessarily what yoga is about. It’s helped me to learn to take a breath, not listen to the negative voice in my head, and deal with life in a more compassionate way. That’s yoga, too. It’s a mindset and lifestyle. Not just the fact that you can do a handstand.
Whether it is on stage, on the runway, in front of the camera, or beyond, Willow has unquestionably positioned herself as an ethereal goddess and now she truly is!
