KANDI BURRUSS SHARES SWEET MESSAGE ON DAUGHTER RILEY’S 19TH BIRTHDAY

"I Hope This Year Brings You Happiness And A Lot Of 'A's'"

Kandi Burruss is in full celebration as her oldest child, Riley Burruss celebrated her nineteenth birthday on Sunday (August 22). The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) star took to Instagram to give her daughter a sweet message.

“Happy Birthday to my firstborn @rileyburruss,” Kandi wrote to her daughter. “No matter how grown you get, you’re still my baby,” the celebrity mom said. “I love you so much and I’m proud of the woman you are becoming,” Kandi wrote to her daughter. “I hope this year brings you happiness and a lot of ‘A’s’!”

Riley Burruss, like many other college students, was forced to deal with the effects of campus lockdowns caused by the coroavirus pandemic last year. The adjustments, coupled with Riley starting college as a Freshman, ultimately led to Kandi’s daughter receiving grades that raised her mom’s eyebrows.

“Transitioning to college life is already hard but having to do it online is even worse,” Riley recently said during an interview segment with her mom for Kandi’s YouTube channel. “[Parents] don’t understand even that normal [phase] when you go from home life to all the way in college in your own space, they already don’t understand that,” Burruss shared.

“So then when you have to talk about, ‘Oh, well it’s harder because of Corona. We’re doing everything online.’ And they don’t understand,” Riley said in response to her mom. “So it’s just kind of like, ‘Well, you don’t understand what I’m going through and you’re expecting me to be top tier.”

Kandi Burruss suggested her daughter cut back on building her social life to focus more energy on her studies. Riley, however, told her mom that socializing was a part of her college experience. Still, Riley told her mom and Kandi’s fans that she hoped to work harder and procrastinate less in 2021.

“I want my goals this year to be more abstract,” Riley shared. “So, of course, just be more hard-working, less procrastinating. [I just want to] work hard, work on myself, make myself a better person.”
