Keyshia Cole is sharing what it’s like to balance motherhood amid the passing of her mom, Frankie Lons. The ‘Love’ singer took to Instagram earlier today to give insight into what her life has been like since her mother’s untimely passing.
“The fact that DJ gave me his cold, SMH,” Keyshia exclaimed. “And I have to care for my youngest! Dealing with mom’s passing [and] planning Tobias’ Bday. He’s turning 2 [on] Aug 1st! I just can’t.”
Frankie Lons passed away earlier this month after suffering an overdose. The Reality TV star died on her sixty-first birthday.
“I wish I could just lay here alone and just feel bad,” Keyshia told her social media fans this past weekend. “But I can’t,” the celebrity mom exclaimed. “Not gonna lie though,” Keyshia added.
“The hundreds of thousands of DM’s I’m receiving and my youngest Tobias Khale keeping me busy and Daniel Gibson Jr keeping me on him every day and my endless family and friends coming by even though they F***king know I’d rather be alone. Like they literally don’t care! And they know I hate people popping up and keep doing it anyway.”
Many remember Frankie from her Reality TV show, Frankie & Neffe. Viewers automatically fell in love with Frankie who lived unashamedly and was not afraid to share her journey to recovery after enduring life as a heavy drug user. Frankie never stopped fighting her addiction, which served as inspiration for others battling with addiction.

Keyshia Cole shared a throwback magazine cover, which featured her mom, in honor of Frankie’s passing. “An Oakland girl who made it and a mom that came and showed her how to shine,” Keyshia captioned.
Keyshia Cole has one child, DJ, with her ex-husband, Daniel Gibson Sr. Tobias is Keyshia’s son with recording artist Niko Khale.
