You may have heard the name, but may or may not be really familiar with this truly talented rising young basketball star. Well, we are about to tell you just who is Amari Bailey and why you must get to know right now!
It is no secret that Bailey has been donned as one of the best high school basketball players in the country.
The talented athlete ranks 3rd on the ESPN 100 list, and is the number one shooting guard in his class.
“He’s a pure combination guard who has effortless high-end scoring ability with or away from the ball,” said Paul Biancardi, ESPN’s national recruiting director in an interview. “As a playmaker, he is equally adept at creating for himself or facilitating for others. In transition or in the halfcourt, he demonstrates outstanding passing vision.”
The 6’4″ shooting guard is a part of Sierra Canyon High School‘s graduating class of 2022. Bailey has, of course, gotten several offers from Alabama, DePaul, Illinois, and Kansas; yet, he has committed to UCLA.
Bailey truly has athleticism in his blood. He is the son of 40-year-old beauty Johanna Leia and Aaron Bailey. Aaron Bailey played football at Louisville University and then later went professional, playing for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts.
Leia, Bailey’s mother, is currently a model, brand ambassador, and entrepreneur. Her face may also look very familiar as she starred on the Lifetime series, Bringing Up Ballers, which features five Chicago-area entrepreneurs whose kids are some of the best players in the country.
However, most recently, Leia has been thrust even further into the public eye as she has been romantically linked to Canadian performer Drake. TMZ reported that Drake, in earlier this month, rented out the Dodgers stadium for a date night.
“A helicopter camera spotted the 34-year-old at a table with Leia near the dugout on the third-base side of the field … and there was a white table cloth, multiple dishes, flowers and even a personal bartender for the couple,” TMZ reported. Back in June, Drake and Michael B. Jordan attended Bailey’s high school game with Leia.
Make sure to keep Amari in your sights. It seems like there is much much more on the horizon for this talented young athlete.
