Dwyane Wade spent quality time with his wife, Gabrielle Union, and their daughter, Kaavia James, on Monday (July 12). The celebrity family spent the day at Wades Beach in Shelter Island, New York.
“I never knew a luh, luh~luh, a love like this,” Dwyane captioned underneath a series of pictures and video shots that featured him with the family at Wades Beach. The former NBA player made certain to shed light on the name of the beach as it directly reflects his last name.
“Wait,” Dwyane Wade’s oldest son, Zaire, shared upon seeing candids from the trip. “Now y’all got a beach,” the young adult asked. A fan responded to Zaire’s comment by saying, “Zaire needs answers!!! Please and thank you.”

Wades Beach is located on the south side of Shelter Island. The spot is known for its sandy beaches, which are quite massive, and shallow swimming areas that are great for kids.
Kaavia James certainly took advantage of the kid-friendly swimming conditions. The youngster enjoyed quality time in the water with both mom and dad. Kaavia was also photographed while sitting with her mom. The little one was wrapped in a blanket at the time the shot was taken. “I gotchu baby,” Gabrielle captioned underneath the sweet picture. “Always,” the L.A.’s Finest star promised her daughter.
Motherhood looks good on Gabrielle Union. The veteran actress took to social media on Mother’s Day to share why the holiday was both exciting and challenging to celebrate.
“My journey to motherhood was long, arduous, and at many times extremely painful,” Union admitted in an Instagram post. “Mother’s Day will always be a challenging day to celebrate for me,” the celebrity shared. “I know I’m not alone in this feeling,” Gabrielle continued.
Fans got a snippet of Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s fertility struggles in her memoir, We’re Going To Need More Wine. In the book, Gabrielle says she suffered upwards of eight miscarriages before she and Dwyane decided to expand their family by way of a surrogate.
“For many reasons, so many of us have a rough time today and to these good people, I send all my love, light, and compassion,” Union shared on Mother’s Day. “To all the Moms, Stepmoms, Bonus Mom’s, Folks who Mother those that need it, Grandma’s, House Mothers, I celebrate you today and every day. Be good to yourselves.”
Kaavia James is Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s only child together. The celebrity couple parents four kids in all.
