What better way to bring in the new month than with a playdate? Cairo Hardrict, Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict’s daughter, and Kaavia James, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s daughter, enjoyed such a day of fun at the beginning of the week.
Both Gabrielle and Tia shared video clips from Kaav and Cairo’s playdate. “When two queens link up,” the caption underneath one of Kaavia’s Instagram posts, which showed her and Cairo greeting one another, read. “The Shady Babies have joined forces,” one fan exclaimed in reference to the toddlers. “It’s over for all of us.”
Kaavia James carried the nickname “Shady Baby” because of her facial expressions, which are both funny and straightforward. Cairo is also recognized as a bit of a “Shady Baby” by her mom’s fans. Tia’s Instagram followers especially find humor in family candids where everyone smiles except Cairo.
At one point, Tia went to great lengths to prove that her daughter indeed smiled when interacting with her family. The celebrity mom even convinced her little one to show her pearly whites in front of the camera at one point. “I found a way to make her smile,” Mowry shared with her social media fans in 2019. The celebrity mom also uploaded a candid that showed her daughter smiling while taking a picture with mom. “I just say, ‘Cairo show your teeth!’ Let’s see how long this lasts.”
Both Cairo and Kaavia have grown into smiles and group hugs. Kaav, however, recently told her mom that she did not want a “solo” hug that excluded her dad. Shady Baby was okay with giving Cairo a hug during their playdate this past weekend, though. The cute moment between the little ones was caught on film and shocked both Gabrielle Union and Tia Mowry.
“Let the #fun begin,” Tia wrote online after her daughter’s playdate. “@kaaviajames and #cairo had an epic #playdate for the books,” the Family Reunion star said. “Thanks, @gabunion for making #cairos day!”
