Some of DMX’s 15 kids and goddaughter, Paige Hurd, touched down in White Plains, NY on Monday to visit the rapper, who is fighting for his life in ICU.
Per COVID-19 regulations, X’s kids have been visiting their father one at a time in the ICU, where he’s on life support. The musician’s fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, and their son Exodus, as well as X’s mother, have been with him since the day he was admitted to the hospital.

On Friday night, DMX was rushed to White Plains Hospital after suffering a drug overdose that resulted in a heart attack. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him for 30 minutes, and during that time he was deprived of oxygen which severely impacted his brain. One family source tells TMZ that his prognosis is “grim” and “It’s not looking good.”
Following his hospitalization, DMX’s representative put out a statement saying:
“Last night Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at home. At this time he remains in ICU in critical condition. Earl has been a warrior his entire life. This situation represents yet another road he must conquer.” The rep goes on … “The Simmons Family appreciates the overwhelming outpouring of heartfelt love, encouragement, support and prayers for Earl. Earl is someone whose life and music have been a source of inspiration and strength to so many people around the world. It is reassuring to see his fans return that same passion and energy to him during his time of need.”
On Monday, hundreds, including a few of DMX’s children, attended a prayer vigil for the rapper, who is reportedly in a “vegetative state”.
Nakia Walker, X’s former manager, told BuzzFeed News on Sunday that the rapper, born Earl Simmons, is in a “vegetative state” with “lung and brain failure.”
“He’s still in the same condition — in a vegetative state, [with] lung and brain failure and no brain activity,” she said. “We’re just praying and waiting. Praying and waiting.”
