DaBaby finds purpose in fatherhood. The rapper paid tribute to his kids before taking the stage at the 2021 Grammy Awards to perform his hit single, ‘Rockstar.’
“My greatest creation [is] my two beautiful daughters, for sure,” DaBaby told his fans prior to his smash-hit performance. “Being a father is the best thing that happened to me by giving me purpose,” the rapper added. “That’s probably the reason why I am here. It just gives me the extra motivation like ‘I gotta go now’ and that’s what I did.”
DaBaby received four Grammy nominations with three of the nods coming his way because of the rapper’s latest project, ROCKSTAR. “Of course I want to win a Grammy,” the rapper said last year when speaking of attending the ceremony for the first time in 2020. “When I first started rapping, I mentioned going to the Grammys,” DaBaby told Rolling Stone.
“I have songs I made back in, like, 2015 where I mention going to the Grammys,” the recording artist continued. “I want one,” DaBaby told the press. “It’s like winning the NBA Finals if you’re a basketball player. I’ve won BET awards, Hip Hop Awards — I’ll get the biggest award of the night there — but winning a Grammy, that’s a different type of certification.”
DaBaby did not win a Grammy this year. The rapper did, however, make the night special for both himself and his youngest daughter. Children were not allowed to attend this year’s ceremony because of coronavirus restrictions. Such conditions did not stop DaBaby from giving his daughter the red carpet experience.

“Due to Covid-19 Restrictions, no kids are allowed in the Grammys,” the rapper told his fans on Sunday (Mar. 14). “So we created our OWN red carpet just so my princess could walk the carpet and show her dress off,” DaBaby shared with his social media fans. “A hand-made dress that @alanitaylorco flew in from New York THIS MORNING to make,” the celebrity dad said of his daughter’s dress.
DaBaby is the proud father of two daughters. The celebrity also treats his girlfriend Meme’s son as his own.
