“I was very nervous,” Bella admitted in an interview with ET. “You know, I didn’t want people to, you know, think that I was just doing this because I can or you know, I didn’t want people to watch it and be like, ‘Oh, that’s his daughter because she can’t keep up with everyone,’ you know?”

Bella added, “I wanted my performance to be really good and I wanted to go in and do the best that I could.”

The talented rising star unquestionably proved that she was able to hold her own and her famous father was proud to say the least.

“What I’m most excited about the audience seeing is how amazing this movie is,” Murphy shared in an interview with Vibe. “We have incredible new cast members like Wesley Snipes, Tracy Morgan, Leslie Jones, Jermaine Fowler, KiKi Layne, and my own daughter, Bella Murphy, among others, who are all so funny and really brought their A-game. It’s just a great picture and I’m excited to have audiences see it.”

Although Bella is heir to the royal Hollywood throne, Murphy tells ET that the young rising star was not allowed to act until she was 18-years-old.

“I told her that she couldn’t work until she was 18, but she started acting lessons, she was doing an acting school and stuff for maybe two years before that.” Murphy also explained to the news outlet that he allowed her to audition for the sequel because she was the right age for the role. “So she auditioned for it and got the part.”

So, just what was the one moment on set that almost got Bella “grounded” by her famous father? Well, it involved some father/daughter mortal combat.

“I wanted my performance to be really good and I wanted to go in and do the best that I could,” Bella said. “I came down with my bow staff and I was supposed to whack my dad and he was, like, blocking, but the way I came down was way too close to his knuckles.

“I saw his life flash before his eyes,” added Bella. The mishap caused the director to stop the scene. In true Eddie Murphy fashion, he jokingly told his daughter, “You’re grounded!”

Make sure to set your calendar notices and tune-in on March 5th to Amazon Prime. The long-awaited Coming to America sequel is finally here!
