To celebrate her nomination, Marsai Martin took to Instagram and posted her excitement.
“Ya girl nominated!! The image awards has always been my favorite time of the year. thank u @naacp @naacpimageawards for your constant love and support. Congrats to all the nominees!! Hopefully we still get to celebrate.”
Martin isn’t the only BCKOnline favorite on the list. Chloe X Halle join her with nominations for their music, in addition to some of our favorite movies such as Soul, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, and more.
The annual awards show celebrates the excellent work of Black actors, artist, activists, and etc. This year, Netflix leads with 48 TV and film nominations followed by HBO with 25. In music, Queen B takes the lead with six nominations.
