Vanessa Bryant remembered her daughter, Gianna “GiGi” Bryant, in the most beautiful way on Monday (Jan. 25) night. The celebrity mom shared a letter from one of GiGi’s friends on Instagram.
“Today I received this sweet letter from one of Gianna’s best friends, Aubrey,” Vanessa told her social media fans. “I love you Aubz (as my Gigi would call you),” the celebrity mom wrote to her daughter’s friend. “Thank you so much for beautifully sharing some of your memories of my Gigi with me and allowing me to share them here on my IG.”
Gianna Bryant passed away in a helicopter crash on Sunday, January 26, 2020. The teen was headed to a game at the Mamba Sports Academy with her father, Kobe Bryant, and seven other passengers at the time. There were no survivors in the accident.
“I miss my baby girl and Kob-Kob so much, too,” Vanessa told her social media fans. “I will never understand why/how this tragedy could’ve happened to such beautiful, kind and amazing human beings,” the celebrity shared. “It still doesn’t seem real. Kob, we did it right. Gigi, you still make mommy proud. I love you!”

Vanessa Bryant got candid about the grief she has endured since the sudden deaths of her husband and daughter. “Let me be real,” Vanessa told her fans. “Grief is a messed up cluster of emotions. One day you’re in the moment laughing and the next day you don’t feel like being alive.”
Bryant went on to tell her Instagram followers, “I know it’s hard. I look at my daughters and I try to push through that feeling for them. Death is guaranteed but living the rest of the day isn’t. Find your reason.”
