I’m so proud of you, Gigi. God I miss you baby. You deserved to live a long, healthy and happy life. I wish I could hold you and tell you how proud I am of you. You’re the best, baby girl. Mommy loves and misses you more than I could ever express. ❤️ @WNBA #2 Gianna “Gigi” Bryant Youngest draft pick ❤️🏀My “mambacita” a.k.a. Wings
“Happy 14th Birthday to my sweet baby girl, Gianna,” Vanessa wrote online. “Mommy loves you more than I can ever show you,” Mrs. Bryant told her daughter. “You are part of MY SOUL forever. I miss you so much everyday. I wish I could wake up and have you here with me. I miss your smile, your hugs and your giggles. I miss EVERYTHING about YOU, Gigi. I LOVE YOU so much.”
Gianna Bryant died alongside her father in a helicopter crash on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Kobe and GiGi were two of nine victims in the accident. Vanessa Bryant has joined the families of the other victims in suing the helicopter’s owners for failing to meet recommended safety regulations that may have been able to prevent the horrendous crash.
Vanessa took to Instagram on Easter to remember both her husband and daughter while celebrating with her and Kobe’s other children. The candids of Natalia, Bianka, and Capri Bryant were absolutely beautiful. Still, there was a noticeable difference with Kobe and GiGi’s absence.
The legacy of Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant continues to live as she was recently one of the youngest basketball player drafted into the WNBA a few weeks back. Kobe’s new children’s book, The Wizenhard Series: Season One, also made waves as a number one New York Times bestseller a few weeks back.
