Tyrese Gibson is denying claims that he locked out his estranged wife, Samantha Lee Gibson, and their 2-year-old daughter, Soraya, out of the family’s Georgia home.
Gibson and Samantha Lee jointly announced on last week that they are amicably divorcing after over three years of marriage, but according to TMZ, the couple had split three months prior:
Samantha Lee Gibson filed divorce docs back in September, and in the petition she alleges Tyrese had, just a few weeks earlier, cut her off financially, and locked her and their 2-year-old daughter, Soraya, out of the family’s Georgia home.
Tyrese is calling BS, though … in docs he filed, he denies leaving them out in the cold. On the other hand, he admits having major issues with Samantha’s demand for $20,000
In their joint statement, the estranged couple, who he met in 2015, said that they would ‘remain the best of friends and strong co-parents.’

“We have decided to make a statement of a painful and significant development in our lives. After much thought, consideration, and prayer, We unfortunately have made the difficult decision to officially separate & divorce. Our intention is to remain the best of friends & strong coparents,” they said in a statement.
Adding,”We feel incredibly blessed to have found each other and deeply grateful for the 4 years we have been married to each other. Our journey together has been a ride of both ups & downs, but it’s a journey that neither of us would have chosen to take with anyone else. We truly have so much love & respect for each other. We both have grown tremendously within this relationship; we have shared so many beautiful memories and moments, and we also look forward to see the amazing futures we have ahead of us individually.”
Tyrese later shared that he feels that “Black families and marriages are under attack…”
He continued, “Pain got me back in the holy grail… [ the studio ] No there’s no album coming this was inspired by the love of my life Samantha…. Thank you for the years I hope you know that I did the very best I could… I truly did…”
Gibson is also the father of 13-year-old daughter Shayla Gibson from a previous marriage to Norma Gibson.
