Dwyane Wade has absolute and unconditional love for his daughter, Zaya Wade. The retired NBA star took to Instagram to express his feelings for his daughter this past weekend.

“Unconditional love, simply put, is love without strings attached,” Dwyane wrote online. “It’s [a] love you offer freely. You don’t base it on what someone does for you in return. You simply love them and want nothing more than their happiness. This type of love [is] sometimes called compassionate or agape love.”
Dwyane Wade shared a candid of Zaya Wade along with his beautiful caption to drive home the point. “This caption,” one fan wrote in response to Dwyane’s statement. “That part,” another social media follower agreed.

Dwyane Wade has admittedly learned a lot from his bold daughter who came out as transgender last year. Both Dwyane and his wife, Gabrielle Union, have received criticism for supporting Zaya on her journey. The celebrity parents, however, continue to undergird the teen.
“We stand as allies with the LGBTQ+ community as proud parents of a transgender child,” Dwyane and Gabrielle said during this year’s GLADD Awards. “Our daughter Zaya is leading us in our journey, and we’re doing all we can to give every one of our kids the ability to live their truth,” the celebrity couple shared.
