The stress of being an expectant mother is real and superstar Kelly Rowland is hoping to help alleviate a little bit of the angst and help mothers in need by throwing a virtual baby shower, benefitting the nonprofit organization, Baby2Baby.
“Please join in my virtual baby shower benefiting @baby2baby, a nonprofit I hold dear to my heart!” Rowland posted on Instagram. “As a mom and Board Member, I’m so proud of the work we’re doing to provide 50 million essentials to children living in poverty across the country impacted the pandemic this year. In lieu of gifts for the new baby, please use the link in my bio to help Baby2Baby continue giving diapers, shampoo, blankets and so much more to kids who need our help more than ever.”
Rowland announced that she and her husband, Tim Weatherspoon, were expanding their family through the cover story on the November issue of Women’s Health Magazine. The new baby will join six-year-old big brother, Titan Jewell Weatherspoon, as the new face of the Weatherspoon family.
Of course, after her post about the virtual event, fans, followers, and fellow celebrities alike jumped in and congratulated the singer on her philanthropic efforts.
One fan wrote, “Such a wonderful cause!”
“Donating,” another confirmed.
One Instagram user wrote, “Such a beautiful initiative queen God bless.”
Baby2Baby, a mega diaper bank, provides children living in poverty, ages 0–12 years, with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. Twenty-twenty has been an unprecedented year as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and Baby2Baby will distribute millions of essential items to some of the most vulnerable children across the country who have been impacted by the pandemic.
Baby2Baby is led by Co-Presidents Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein. In the last nine years, Baby2Baby has distributed over 100 million items to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals and underserved schools as well as children who have lost everything in the wake of disaster.
