Well, they are back and this time they are the opening the inaugural Rebel Girls United Virtual Event in celebration of International Day of the Girl, which will take place on Sunday, October 11th.

The first-of-its-kind virtual event will feature live performances, sing-alongs, dance parties, interactive art and cooking moments from a diverse set of all female celebrities, change-makers, thought-leaders and doers from different parts of the world.

A few of the guest participants in the virtual event, in addition to the Pollard’s, will be host, 12-year-old Olympian professional skateboarder and surfer, Sky Brown, Beyonce’s dance captain Ashley Everett, Broadway superstar Kristin Chenoweth, Rockstar and legend Joan Jett, among others.

Additionally, the virtual event will feature some of the stories from Rebel Girls’ newest book, Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Immigrant Women Who Changed the World, which will release on October 13th. The book tells stories of women whom have made their everlasting marks on the world such as Gloria Estefan, Yuan Yuan Tan, Carmen Miranda, Asma Khan, and many more.

As a compliment to the upcoming book, the Rebel Girls launched their own podcast, Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls Podcast, which presents 14 new book-based episodes narrated by real-life women pioneers, further delving into the lives of the ceiling-shattering women featured in the book to encourage young listeners to ask questions, explore their interests and foster cross-cultural friendships to combat xenophobia.

If you haven’t heard about the Rebel Girls until now, here’s a little history about the group. They started from a Kickstarter campaign in 2016. The group has already reached 10 million girls through their books and podcast — making it the preeminent girl-driven edutainment brand shaping young, feminist minds, with the ultimate goal of reaching 50 million girls in 5 years. Rebel Girls is a global brand reaching audiences in over 85 countries and across 49 different languages.
