Famous athletes like NBA Hall of Famer Ray Allen often get criticized for speaking out on politics, but he doesn’t let that stop him from speaking his mind and educating his kids on political issues as well.
Ray Allen and his wife, Shannon Walker Allen have four sons together: Walter Ray Allen III (born 2004), Walker (born 2006), Wynn (born 2009), and Wynstan Ryan Allen (born 2012). Allen also has a daughter, Tierra Allen, with his ex-girlfriend Rosalind Ramsey.
Ray Allen and his family tuned in to the first 2020 Presidential Debate between President Donald Trump and Former Vice President Joe Biden on September 29. The debate has been described by many as “messy,” “chaotic,” and a “debacle,” due to Trump’s constant interruptions and Biden’s occasional name-calling.
Ray Allen (an open Biden supporter) took to Instagram to voice his displeasure with the debate and stress the importance of educating children on political issues, posting a picture of himself watching the debate with his family and captioning the post: “It’s just that important! They get to watch it for themselves! After the debate ended, I had to explain to them that presidents are not supposed to behave this way. #presidentialdebate2020 #vote #mykids #educateyourfamily #biden2020.”
Aside from politics, Ray Allen and his family recently celebrated Walter Ray Allen III’s 16th and Tierra’s 28th birthday. On September 8, Allen posted a few photos of his eldest son and captioned the birthday post:
“On this day, 16 years ago my amazing son @rayray_jr3 came into this world. What a day it was, and for the past 16 years I have become a better person every single day because of him. Not a day goes by that I don’t worry about his place in the world. Ray, I love how kind, ambitious, driven, and hard-working you are. I’m excited to travel alongside you on your journey. Your future is so bright. I love you. Happy 16th birthday son.”
For Tierra’s 28th birthday on September 25 (which fittingly was also National Daughters Day), Ray Allen shared a few sweet photos of her and celebrated Tierra’s special day in the caption, writing: “Happy Birthday @lifextierra I just want to tell you all that this child has a serious soul on her! Whenever she walks in the room she lights the room up! Tierra, I am so proud to be your dad and I am a better dad because of you. I love you! #girldad #septemberbaby #happybirthday.”
