16-year-old Zahra Rock, the daughter of legendary comedian Chris Rock, recently placed first in an Equestrian competition.

Zahra’s mother, Malaak Compton-Rock, took to Instagram to celebrate her daughter’s success, as she earned two first-place ribbons with her horses Sawyer and Colorful. She posted a few photos of Zahra with her horses and the ribbons she won. In the caption, she wrote:
“Great day at HITS on the Hudson horse show! Yesterday Zahra and her horse Sawyer ribboned in every round, including two 1st place wins and overall Reserve Champion. She didn’t do bad on Colorful either with the two of them earning a 4th and 5th place ribbon. Zahra Rock also showed off her horse-riding skills with a first-place win in July after four months of not competing due to coronavirus. Malaak posted photos of Zahra’s victory and captioned the post: “Zahra is back competing! It’s so nice after being off her horses for 4 months. There are no spectators, you must be masked and everyone is adhering to social distancing. I’m so glad too as I told her I reserve the right to drive back home if things are not right! Yesterday was a good day on this beauty Colorful! She placed first in the medal round and third and eighth in her other jumping rounds, so ribbons all the way!”

Chris Rock and his ex-wife Malaak-Compton Rock share not only Zahra but also her elder sister, 18-year-old Lola Rock, and Ntombi, their 11-year-old adopted daughter from South Africa. Chris and Malaak divorced after 18 years of marriage, but they maintain a decent relationship and co-parent their children. They reunited on May 22 to celebrate Zahra’s 16th birthday. Malaak posted pictures of Zahra’s “drive-by” birthday party on Instagram and wrote in the caption:
“I am so proud to be her mother and am immensely grateful to watch her blossom into an amazing young woman. Thank you to the friends and family who blessed us with a “drive-by” birthday party.
