Eight-time Olympic Gold medalist Usain Bolt is enjoying his life as a father to his baby daughter, Olympia Lightning Bolt.
On August 1, Usain Bolt took to Instagram to post a cute video of himself having a “conversation” of his adorable daughter Olympia. In the clip, Olympia sits in her father’s lap and coos and giggles as he rubs her belly and affectionately pinches her cheeks. Usain encourages Olympia to “tell Daddy” what she wants to say and playfully gasps at her responses. He captioned the post: “Best Conversation Ever ⚡️.”
Usain Bolt and his girlfriend Kasi Bennett welcomed Olympia in May, but they didn’t reveal her name and face to the public until July 7, when they shared photos of her across social media. At the time, Usain posted a picture of Kasi and Olympia on Instagram celebrating them and wrote in the caption:
“I want to wish my gf @kasi.b a happy birthday and To let u know I am happy I get to spend ur special day with u. I want nothing but happiness for u and will continue to do my best keeping a smile on ur face. Now we have started a new chapter together with our daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt I look forward to what the future will bring for us but be reassured that I will be the ROCK for this family.”
Olympia Lightning Bolt is indeed a fitting name for the daughter of the greatest Sprinter of all-time. In an interview with ET, Usain revealed that it was Kasi that came up with their daughter’s creative name. “It’s actually my girlfriend, Kasi, that came up with the name. We sat down and went through a few names and she was like, ‘I really love Olympia,'” explained Usain. “I was like, ‘I feel like you’re going to put pressure on her.’ I actually warned her and she’s like, ‘No, this is what I like,'” said Usain. He soon came around, explaining, “We had a deal that if we had a girl, she would give the girl a name, and a boy, I’d give the boy the name.”
